This is the third weekly installment of Gift Ideas for the Designer in your Life. The other two have been straight forward but this one can be more detailed if desired so I am making it a blog post. I will start with the basics first. Your designer loving or dare I say, decorating junkie, may not have even noticed this impressive detail before or they might have thought it had to be built into the construction. What I am talking about is this…a relatively in expensive light, the UPLIGHT.
Uplighting can be put in a planter as illustrated below to add ambiance to your room. You can also add it to your exterior landscaping for visual effects with the bonus of added visual security.

Or it can be used to highlight a favorite architectural detail or wall.

This is a gift that can be small, cost $6 and sometimes fit in a Christmas stocking or you can get more elaborate and make it wireless, have it change colors and other various features and cost a lot more, like this fun and portable fixture Philip Hue Go..
